Impressionable Minds

A couple of days ago, I was cooking dinner in the kitchen with Samuel. I looked out the window to see our neighbor chasing our dog along with two others out of his yard with a rake. The boys were out on the trampoline as they all ran by. I could tell our neighbor was angry so I stopped to watch. The boys were playing with an older neighborhood boy, so I didn't rush out there to investigate. I watched as they looked upset, but talked through it with the teenage boy.

Our dog, a large Weimaraner, was "wrestling"(as our boys called it) with our neighbors lab. Needless to say, it got a little rowdy and our neighbor broke it up.

A few minutes later Justin called, so Seth came inside to talk to him. Seth began to explain that our neighbor said that he was going to kill our dog. Here it is a few days later and Matt is still asking me, "Why did D say that he was going to kill Moe?" I have explained it several times, but children believe people when they say something. I guess it is just another example of "Say what you mean and mean what you say."

The week is almost over, just arrives home tonight. Today was a pretty rough day for Matt, he was struggling with the obedience thing. It made the last few hours of the day pretty long.
