This morning after Seth got ready for church I asked him to go to the basement until the rest of us were ready too. A few minutes later I looked down the stairs and saw him standing in the middle of the room looking at the wall. I asked him what he was doing. He said, "I am standing still so that I can hear God." I wasn't sure if I heard him right so I said, "What are you doing?" He explained to me that Justin told him last night that if he was still he could listen for God to speak to him. Then he went on to say, "If Jesus speaks to me, then I am supposed to call dad and tell him."
So, I told Justin what happened and he filled me in on the whole situation, which also included Matt intently listening. They prayed together that God would speak to them. Tonight when the boys were getting into bed Seth and I talked about how most of the time God doesn't talk to you with an audible voice. I told him that he should try to hear from God through his heart, not from his ears. He was very upset that he hadn't already heard from God, since he has been asking. Matt said, "Jesus talked to me last night." I asked, "What did Jesus tell you Matt?" He said, "Jesus said, 'Good kids, I love you.'" We prayed and Seth went to bed expecting to hear from God tonight.

This is so precious and cute about hearing from God.
We also were not allowed to dress up or celebrate Halloween. I hated being different as a kid but I appreciate it now looking back and it will be neat to do "special things" with our own kids.
What church did you go to growing up?
That is just about the sweetest thing I have ever heard.
What did he hear?
